What to Expect

  • You may feel very tired.  Hot yoga provides an intense detoxification of the body as well as an intense workout that burns between 600 and 1,000 calories, so it is very normal to feel fatigued.  However, after a few classes, you will find yoga gives you energy and enhances your clarity of mind.
  • Your muscles may be stiff or sore after your first class.  This is very normal, especially because you are using your body in a new way.  Your body is transforming and becoming stronger as a result of your practice.  The best way to work that stiffness out is to come back again the second day!
  • You may have a headache after class.  This is a sign your body is dehydrated.  Hot Yoga students should drink at least 3-5 liters of water each day.  Coconut water is a great source of electrolytes to replenish the body.
